It all started when…

My parents bought me my first “real” camera right when I was around seventeen years of age. It was one of those Sam’s Club package deals with the kit lens, bag and everything. I LOVED that camera. I started off with a Nikon D5100 and a kit lens and let me tell you, I took photos of everything.

Right around this time, my family was stationed to Guam, where I finished out my senior year of high school. What a beautiful and special place. I’ve always had more of a creative side than a logically one. Going with the flow and riding the tide. I took an AP Art class where I focused mostly on painting and drawings. ( I actually thought I was good). I wanted to try and go to some kind of art school and pursue my dream at the time of becoming an artist. Mind you, I couldn’t make up my mind on what I wanted to do with my life. I’ve always wanted to become an actress, my first love. But as everyone knows, I tried to take the “practical” route and switch everything up. So, switching to trying to becoming an artist, I would take photos of my models and try to draw them later. I ended up loving the perspective and feeling of taking photos.

We had a great group on Guam where I was really able to grow as a photographer. I did some “modeling”, but I got the chance to work with some amazing people and photographers who really opened my world to photography. I was able to upgrade gear, practice my craft and continue to do what I loved doing. And let me tell you, Guam is one of the most beautiful places to take photos. The scenery is literally breathtaking.

Fast forward a couple of years and I moved to Charlotte, NC. I took some time to finish school where I graduated as a Theatre major. After
